Our Why

What is Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)?

Evidence-Based Diet Therapy from Licensed Nutrition Experts
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) is a form of evidence-based nutrition counseling provided by a registered dietitian (RD) to address diet-related chronic conditions (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics AND, 2023). MNT is grounded in clinical research and delivered by highly trained professionals. Registered dietitians hold at least a master’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field, with extensive undergraduate coursework in nutritional sciences. Their training includes a supervised internship in a healthcare setting, successful completion of a national board exam, and ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure (California Department of State Hospitals, 2023). The depth and rigor of RD training in nutrition significantly exceed that of most medical doctors.
